Melaleuca Road

Carmel Charlton & John Ralph have recently combined to form the duo Melaleuca Road.  The meeting of their varied musical tastes has resulted in a vibrant mix of musical styles to meet all occasions.  You will find Australian songs and tunes, Irish jigs and reels, English and Scottish tunes and songs included with rock pop, country and Bluegrass music from America.  All played with many textures of sound and tight vocal harmonies.  Add to this Carmel’s original songs and you really have music for any occasion.

Carmel Charlton singer, songwriter, guitar and keyboard player in the folk/country genre has a wide repertoire of both originals and covers.    She has recorded four CD’s.  Her video clip of Horses Coming Home was shown on ABC TV in Western Australia.  Her song My Nullarbor Home was included on the ABC’s ‘Australia All Over’ CD Macca’s Sunday Best.  Carmel’s songs capture the essence of the Australian landscape, history and heritage.

John Ralph is a recent import to Perth.  He has over twenty years experience of playing music in rock, pop, folk and country bands.  He has played in many pubs and festivals in the UK, solo and with other musicians.  A multi instrumentalist, he plays 6 and 12 string acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitar, banjo, mandola, mandolin, whistle, harmonica and drums.  He also teaches electric, acoustic and classical guitar.
